Description
The octopus is one of the most interesting and intelligent of all invertebrates. Octopus fishing is not regulated or monitored in the Philippines. This video, filmed with a Canon S95 digital camera in a waterproof housing at Balicasag Island, Bohol, Philippines, graphically portrays 2 octopuses that were speared while snorkeling in order to be used for food. The octopus is an important catch both for local consumption and export, but fishing must be limited in order to prevent the octopus from becoming an endangered species.
